How to Diet on a Budget

Going on a diet can be expensive. But did you know that you can still go into tip top shape without spending lots of money?

Let’s face it, being practical is a wise choice these days. So here are some tips on how you can go on a diet without sacrificing your budget:

1. Go on a high fiber diet. The fastest and surest way to lose excess fat and cholesterol is to incorporate fiber rich food in your diet. Fiber helps in the digestion and metabolism process, thereby, helping the body lose excess fat. With a high fiber diet, you can easily maintain your desired weight without spending lots of money. What are fiber rich foods? For breakfast, try to have more cereals, whole grain, and wheat. For lunch, you can add more green leafy vegetables like lettuce, cabbage, etc. and fresh fruits for dessert. Fresh fruits and veggies are not only good sources of fiber, they are full of vitamins and nutrients too so that you stay healthy all the time.

2. Don’s skip meals. Another secret to losing weight is to make sure that you eat regularly. This means that you should not skip meals especially breakfast which is considered as the most important meal of the day. Just cut your intake of fatty foods such as pork and lessen your consumption of sweets and foods high in sugar such as sweets. Avoid eating in between meals as this can make you gain weight. Don’t skip breakfast, lunch, and dinner but just watch out the amount of food you eat.

3. Eat more fruit. Fresh fruits are also high in fiber and nutrients as mentioned earlier. So in order to stay in shape, you can eat more fruits as part of your meals or snacks. Eating fruits after dinner such as pineapple, papaya, oranges, apples, and prunes can help you digest food properly so that you won’t have to worry about excess fat. Fruits are also rich in Vitamin C which helps fight various diseases such as flu and colds.

4. Eat less fat and fewer carbs. As much as possible, avoid eating fatty foods such as pork and sweets. Avoid oily foods such as those that are fried and instead go for grilled meat and pork which has less fat. Another way to avoid gaining weight is to watch your intake of carbohydrates. As much as possible, avoid eating lots of rice, pasta, and foods high in carbohydrates.
